Frontier Benchmark Observatory

Trace which benchmarks six frontier AI labs name in reviewed first-party materials, when those references appear, and the exact evidence behind each occurrence.

Read this as a bounded reporting review, not a leaderboard. An omission means only that a benchmark was not found in the reviewed first-party source bundle. It does not establish whether a lab ran an evaluation privately or elsewhere.

Methodology and coverage

Bounded discovery

The corpus reviews named official launch and news indexes, required archive pages, and directly linked first-party technical materials. The window begins 2024-01-01 and ends 2026-09-01, inclusive. Mutable indexes can be incomplete.

What an omission means

“Not reported,” “dormant,” and “outdated” refer only to comparable sequences in reviewed public reporting. They do not establish that an evaluation was not run, discontinued, or unavailable privately.

Included releases

Text and vision-language foundation models, reasoning and coding variants, previews, instruct variants, dated checkpoints, and dated point revisions are in scope. Modality-specific generators, robotics, and embedding-only releases are out of scope.

Evidence policy

Occurrences require a first-party source, revision state, precise locator, narrow paraphrase, explicit setup disclosures, and review state. Entries copied from comparison tables and third-party materials are excluded.

Public coverage and quarantine

Quarantined candidates are withheld from verified occurrences until a concrete evidence gap can be resolved. Counts do not predict what missing material would show.
